Busisa Moyo

Busisa Moyo (born 19 January 1975) is a Zimbabwean business executive and entrepreneur. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) of United Refineries Limited, an agro-processing company in Zimbabwe. Busisa is recognized for his leadership in industrial and manufacturing sectors. Since 2020, he chairs the boards of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) and the Zimbabwe Investments and Development Agency (ZIDA). Between 2019 and 2022, Busisa was a member of Presidential Advisory Council advising President Emmerson Mnangagwa on business and economic matters.

Busisa was born on 19 January 1975 in Plumtree, grew up in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Busisa holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa and completed his articles with Deloitte and Touche in 1999. He earned a Global Executive MBA from IESE Business School in Spain and completed executive education on mergers and acquisitions at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

From 1999 to 2005, Moyo worked as Senior Manager for Investments and Monitoring at TA Holdings Limited. In 2008, he founded and chaired Moyo Africa Financial Advisory Limited, a role he held until 2011. In 2013, Moyo became the Group CEO of United Refineries Limited (URL) after serving as the company's Finance Director and managing director since 2009. URL is a Zimbabwean agro-processing company specializing in edible oils, soaps, and stock feeds.

In addition to his role at URL, Busisa served as president of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) from 2014 to 2016. Since 2017, Busisa serves as the Chairman of the Oil Expressers Association of Zimbabwe (OEAZ). In 2019, Busisa was appointed to the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, where he advised on economic and industrial policies to enhance Zimbabwe's economic recovery, held role until 2022.

Busisa has called for policies that encourage local production and reduce dependency on imports. During his tenure at CZI, he championed the “Buy Zimbabwe” campaign, aimed at promoting local products and creating employment opportunities.

Through URL and partnerships with local organizations, Busisa supports training programs in agriculture, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. He has emphasized the importance of skills development to empower the next generation of Zimbabwean leaders.

Busisa is married to Sandi Moyo, and they have four children.
