Lel Smits is a director., financial journalist, and an advocate for financial literacy. She is the founder and managing director of The Stock Network (TSN), dedicated to simplifying complex financial concepts and enhancing stock market literacy through innovative short-form video content. Awards and Recognition
Smits was recognized by the Women in Finance Awards as "Director of the Year" in 2022 and 2024 for her contributions to corporate governance and financial education through her work with the Australian Shareholders' Association.
In 2021, Smits received the Rising Star Award from Women in Banking and Finance (WiBF) for her role as Executive Director of The Capital Network, where she played a key part in establishing MarketLit, Australia's first millennial and Gen Z investment conference
Her work at The Capital Network also earned her the Sydney Young Entrepreneur Award in the PR & Media category in 2020. Additionally, she won the finance category award in 2018 and was named one of Australia's Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs by Business News Australia the same year
