The National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO), is a government agency responsible to undertake research in all aspects of agriculture including crops, livestock, fisheries, forestry, agro-machinery, natural resources and social-economics.
Location

Overview
NARO was established in 1992 as a semi-autonomous institution and a body corporate. It is administered under the [[Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (Uganda).
Governance
The agency is supervised by a seven-person secretariat body, headed by a Director General, currently Dr. Yona Baguma. Other members include Dr. Swidiq Mugerwa, Dr. Sadik Kassim, Dr. Stevens Kisaka, CPA Tegiike Julius Mununuzi, Mark Seremba, Denis Owor. Barirega Akankwasah serves as the Executive Director & Board Secretary. The NARO Governing Council hold office for a tenure of four years.
