On Mount Lykaion, along one of many hiking trails, the remains of a Classical Era Greek sanctuary can be found dedicated to the god Pan. It is located within the 32 km long Neda River gorge. The structure is made of stone and remarkably preserved for its age. It is not far away from the Sanctuary of Zeus on Mt. Lykaion.
Pausanias briefly described the sanctuary,
"There is on Mount Lykaion a sanctuary of Pan, and a grove of trees around it, with a race-course in front of which is a running-track. Of old they used to hold here the Lycaean games. Here there are also bases of statues, with now no statues on them."
