Draft:William Green (composer)

William Green (1962–) is a New Zealand composer, pianist and writer. He lives in Auckland and composes opera, musical theatre, silent film, dance and choral music.

Early life

William Green was born in Christchurch and studied piano with Jean MacLachlan and Maurice Till.

Career

After graduating BMus/MA at the University of Canterbury he worked as a pianist, teacher, arranger, composer and in radio.

He has written for publications such as the Auckland Philharmonia News.

He writes comic poems for magazines such as Lighten Up Online.
