The Hyderabad Book Fair is a winter fair in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Book Fair not only caters to avid readers but also encourages budding writers and publishers to showcase their work. Cultural programs and book launches, interactive sessions and other literary events are also part of the schedule, adding to the fair's festive atmosphere.
A donation box will be set up at the venue wherein interested people can give away old books, which will be donated to various libraries and government schools.
Year-wise Fair Details
2015
The 29th Hyderabad Book Fair 2016 was held at Telangana Kala Bharati (NTR Grounds), Domalguda from December 18 to 27, 2015. The fair venue has been named after Telangana Movement ideologist Kothapalli Jayashankar, and the meeting stage has been named after Poet Suddala Hanmanthu.
2016
The 30th edition was scheduled during December 15 to 26, 2016 at Telangana Kala Bharati (NTR Grounds), Domalguda. Finance Minister Etela Rajender along with MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao inaugurated the 30th edition of Hyderabad Book Fair and venue has been named after social historian & Freedom Fighter Suravaram Pratapa Reddy, and the two stages has been named after Poets Makhdoom Mohiuddin and Mahasweta Devi.
2024
Hyderabad’s 36th National Book Fair was held from 09 February 2024 to 19 February 2024 at Telangana Kala Bharati (NTR Grounds), Domalguda was inaugurated by cultural minister Jupally Krishna Rao. The entrances are named after Zaheerudin Ali Khan, former managing director of Siasat Daily.
The book fair regularly helds every December, due to 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections the fair has been scheduled to February. Publishers from across the nation showcased their diverse works in various fields. Of 365 stalls at the fair, 115 were exclusively dedicated to Telugu literature.
