Not the main protagonist
Like I said, a main protagonist is someone who has a connection to the main plot of the storyline and to the final boss, Akira doesn't have either, that's Kage-Maru (where's his main page?) and the only the so-called source to that is coming from blogger talking about an action figure, not someone from Sega or anyone who has actually worked on the game. 108.208.137.59
