Cited: - While the hook seems true, the source attached here doesn't explicitly support some of the facts. It doesn't verify that Scorsese is known for crime films (just films in general) nor that SZA didn't expect him to find about it (just that his daughter (and potentially him) found out about it). It's possible his daughter posted the story without sharing the song with him. "SZA was shocked after she received the Scorsese family's blessing." could be partially implied to mean this, but I'd still prefer a more direct statement to confirm.
Interesting:
QPQ: Done.
Overall: Overall, the article presents no problems. Reliable sources exist, the paragraphs are cited, it's new enough, long enough, and there's no copyvio. ALT1 reads as more interesting to me, but it would also need a valid source as the linked one doesn't support the "emotionally unstable boyfriend" portion. I'd be more than happy to approve if this part is resolved. TheDoctorWho(talk) 19:29, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello @TheDoctorWho, as the nominator I personally disagree with ALT1 per DYKFICTION issues. I also do not expect a Wikipedia reader unfamiliar with film to know who Scorsese is. Regardless, wrt to the citation for "emotionally unstable boyfriend", Vulture says "SZA explains that she’s looking for the sort of volatile relationship that Martin Scorsese’s mobsters, criminals, and rich guys often have."
@PSA: Sorry if I wasn't clear before, one of my issues was the source content (for ALT0) in relation to the facts of the hook. I'm not disputing that she found out about it, but the proposed hook specifically says she "did not expect him to know about it hours after release?", a statement that does not appear to be directly or indirectly supported in both the WHYI or HotNewHipHop sources. The closest statement in the WHYI source says that "SZA was shocked after she received the Scorsese family's blessing." While this is close, I'm worried it's still not direct enough. For example, she could have "expected" him to find out, but still be "shocked" to receive the blessing. If we stick with ALT1 that's not an issue, but given your concern, the original would need to be reworded if you wanted to stick with it. What about something like:
(these are two that I just picked up from the initial WHYI source)? These facts would need to be added to the article as well of course, but shouldn't be a major issue since sourcing already exists there. TheDoctorWho(talk) 04:29, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
