The motto of the AIW is conservata veritate, which translates to "with the preserved truth".
This motto reflects the inclusionist desire to change Wikipedia only when no knowledge would be lost as a result.

I choose to keep my name confidential most places online, and will do so here. I go by a few different aliases on the Internet, including Rogue 9, Renegade, and Renegade Paladin.
I was a student at Murray State University. My interests include playing music (music education being my major), biking, fishing, and water tubing, as well as more sedentary activities like engaging in debate both online and off, and playing real time strategy games as well as Dungeons & Dragons, in which I am quite fond of playing paladins, especially unusual multiclass combos thereof such as rogue/paladins. I am an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. I'm a player and tournament organizer of Warhammer 40,000.
I suffered a home fire in 2006 and was forced to drop out of university due to the resulting strain on my finances. I continue my studies independently, and am working to master artisan breadbaking. I baked professionally for a few years, but lost my job in a layoff when the local bakery was bought out. I now work in a local furniture factory to support myself while saving money to return to school. In the meantime, I continue independent study of many topics both as a matter of personal interest and to exercise my mind, including trigonometry and American history, particularly of the antebellum period and American Civil War.
Wikipedia-related interests
I am an amateur historian, specializing in American history leading up to the American Civil War. I also take great interest in Star Wars-related articles, as well as lesser interest in most other science fiction. I also have a lesser interest in political articles. You might see my edits in any of these topics.
I am also highly interested in putting a stop to rampant deletionism. For the articles, Wikipedia is not paper, and there are some who would do well to remember that. Wikipedia is also a community, and messing with the rights of a community's members is an excellent way to make them seek out other communities. If we wish the encyclopedia to grow and benefit from a large number of serious users, we need to not interfere with those users' rights on their personal userpages.

My Neighbor's Yard: An Allegory
If a storm comes and the wind blows, and a branch falls from my tree into my neighbor's yard, it is my responsibility to fix it. But my neighbor is more likely to notice first than I am, seeing as the branch is in his yard. If my neighbor asks me to remove the branch, I do so gladly. If my neighbor calls his lawyer and files a lawsuit to make me remove the branch without talking to me, I will still remove the branch but will like my neighbor less. If my neighbor shows up at my door with a gun to demand removal of the branch, I will still remove the branch, but my neighbor will find the police at his door soon after. And if my neighbor demands I change the landscaping of my own yard to please his aesthetics, he needs to get a hobby. In this final way, deletionists and HOAs share much in common.
