—Project

• As part of the project's New Year's Resolutions, there is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 5%. As of September 26, we are at 6.96%, with 348 articles currently in Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source and improve stub articles, and a list of well-known wrestlers and tag teams that should be fairly easy to improve is included on the stub article subpage.
• Based on the members list, there are currently 247 members participating in WikiProject Professional wrestling.

This section is intended to warn users about potential targets of vandalism and speculation: professional wrestling events from major promotions for the month of October.

• La Fiera died on September 12 at the age of 49, after being stabbed multiple times.
• On September 13:
  • Ring of Honor (ROH) announced that Kenny King had signed a contract extension.
  • ROH announced that Kyle O'Reilly had signed a contract with the promotion.
  • Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) announced that Davey Richards had vacated the PWG World Championship due to other commitments. A new champion will be determined in a four-way match between Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Joey Ryan, and Brandon Gatson.
• On September 15, Aloisia (Lindsey Hayward) confirmed her release from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
• At the Night of Champions pay-per-view on September 19:
  • Daniel Bryan won the WWE United States Championship by defeating The Miz.
  • Michelle McCool defeated Melina Perez to unify the WWE Divas and WWE Women's Championships into the WWE Unified Divas Championship.
  • Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre won a Tag Team Turmoil match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
  • Randy Orton won a six-pack elimination match for the WWE Championship.
• On September 21, Dixie Carter announced that Mr. Anderson had signed a new contract with TNA.
• On September 23:
  • Amazing Red won the TNA X Division Championship at a house show by defeating Jay Lethal.
  • Christian underwent surgery on a torn pectoral muscle, and is expected to be inactive for approximately six months.
• Jorge González died on September 24 at the age of 44.
• Jay Lethal regained the TNA X Division Championship from Amazing Red at a house show on September 25.

1. Only add controversial, possibly contentious or libellous information if it comes from a reliable source and is verifiable.
2. Make sure that all information contained in biographies of living persons is written neutrally, from a non-point of view perspective.

• Pimpinela Escarlata and Faby Apache won the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship on October 1 by defeating Alex Koslov and Christian Von Eerie.

  • It was announced that Jersey All Pro Wrestling promoter Frank Iadevia had reached an agreement to run New Japan Pro Wrestling shows in the United States beginning in 2011.
