The result was delete. Google searches are generally not sufficient to establish notability. Specific reliable sources are. Sandstein 18:50, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable politician, fails WP:POLITICIAN. The subject ran for a seat in the Ohio's 2nd congressional district but lost. He does not hold another political office to make him pass the notability threshold of WP:POLITICIAN nor is there any indication in the article of notability outside of politics. The article reads like a resume, was created two months before the election and contains the link to the subject's official campaign site; more or less, the Wikipedia article might have been written solely as a promotional tool in the subject's political campaign. - Delete - no independent reliable source to establish notability according to WP:POLITICIAN or WP:N.--Boffob (talk) 14:20, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Did you try to look for any first? Mathmo Talk 15:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I did. The kind of coverage below is normal for any non-fringe candidate at the local level, it's not particularly significant. You'd need something outside of the election this candidate lost to apply WP:N--Boffob (talk) 15:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep, google news search turns up lots of hits. For instance: [1] & [2] etc Mathmo Talk 15:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Neither of those sources establishes any notability. The first one is an article about his 2008 run for a seat (which he lost and, therefore, doesn't do anything to put him past the WP:POLITICIAN threshold) and the other one announces his run next term. He does not hold and never has held a "national or first-level sub-national political office" nor does he fit the description of "members of a legislature and judges", all of these being taken directly from WP:POLITICIAN. - Weak delete. He fails WP:POLITICIAN and comes up short on WP:GNG. Reliable sources found indicate that he's prominent in his community, but main coverage is indirect, relating to a 2007 incident. • Gene93k (talk) 23:36, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete The content can be recreated if he runs for office again and wins. Until then, owning a store doesn't show notability unless he started a national chain and is renowned for it. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 04:15, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
