Gilbert does not appear to be a notable individual. His only claim to fame is a handful of self-produced direct-to-DVD documentaries on conspiracy-esque subjects and Bob Dylan, and belonging to a local Bob Dylan cover band. All of the external links are to pages Gilbert himself owns; there are no links to any neutral outside sources that mention Gilbert. His page has been tagged for notability for over a year and a half.
Moreover, it appears that Gilbert himself (or someone close to him) is responsible for nearly the entire article. The page was created by 'Sweethominy,' and roughly half the edits are by that same individual. Many edits display a rather detailed knowledge of Gilbert's history and personal life, all of which are unsourced. Sweethominy has made only one edit on any other Wikipedia page, and that was to add a reference to one of Gilbert's videos to another page.
All in all, this page looks to be little more than a self-congratulatory effort at pretending he is a notable individual. Lorencollins (talk)
- Comment. At first glance, the article does indeed look suspiciously self-created. And because it was so poorly sourced (all self-published sources), I removed a great deal of information. If you want to see what it looks like before, just look at the revision history. However, I have found some secondary sources reviewing his films: [1]; [2]; [3]; and [http://www.wnd.com/2012/04/film-presidents-father-not-barack-obama/]. There are also more sources one could pay to see. I don't have an opinion whether this is enough for Gilbert to meet notability guidelines.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:42, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Does not meet notability guidelines. I can only find a few brief scant references to him in the news. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 01:23, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete Even if someone bothered to cite Bbb23's excellent references this dude still doesn't meet WP:FILMMAKER or WP:MUSBIO. --Joshuaism (talk) 04:15, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete I looked at Bbb23's links and found a couple more of my own ([4] & [5]), and I still don't see sufficient coverage of him. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 23:35, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
