Can't find any independent WP:SIGCOV of this footballer to meet WP:GNG/WP:NSPORT -- only stats pages and affiliated sources. If you find some (his career was a while ago so there may not be digital sources) please ping me. Dclemens1971 (talk) 21:55, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

- User:Unknown Temptation is probably able to find something. This was a prolific player and double league champion. Geschichte (talk) 09:28, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- I couldn't find anything other than match reports in the Mundo Deportivo online archives, while El Diario Vasco's online archive has nothing at all (but only contains articles from the last decade or two). I can't access El Correo's online archive (subscription required), but it defintely has some hits. This is difficult as Elgezabal was at Athletic Club for several years and even as a fringe squad player one would expect some SIGCOV at the time. Jogurney (talk) 13:27, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- As a follow-up, the Basque Studies Society published an entry in their online encyclopedia [1] about Elgezabal in 2007. It's
nearly identical to our article, andlacks any sourcing,so I'm concerned they may have just copied thebut it pre-dates all versions of this Wikipedia article. Jogurney (talk) 13:34, 9 January 2025 (UTC)- Since that encyclopedia is edited and reviewed by independent experts, that would be one qualifying source. If we can find another I'll be happy to withdraw this nomination. Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:22, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Diario AS has a very brief mention of Elgezabal here which notes that he attended Athletic Club's 40-year anniversary celebration of the 1983-84 treble-winning side. Athletic also published an interview with Elgezabal (I know its not secondary coverage) that covers the club's 1983 European Cup adventure and background on his playing career. I think there's probably enough now to suggest offline sources that would satisfy SIGCOV. Jogurney (talk) 17:34, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. Withdrawing as speedy keep. Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:39, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
