- Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:OCAWARD, per WP:NONDEF, per previous discussion and many discussions before. People in these categories are notable for being politician, military, scientist, artist etc. while the award is by no means a defining characteristic in itself. - Delete These are the type of award categories that have lead to category clutter.John Pack Lambert (talk) 08:26, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: upmerge per WP:SMALLCAT, only 1-3 articles per category. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:46, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Keep – per WP:SMALLCAT, part of the "large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme" Category:People by occupation and nationality. Oculi (talk) 13:58, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Does this clause also apply in case most countries don't have any articles at all? It's not "large" nor "overall", is it? Marcocapelle (talk) 15:00, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- There are 2 subschemes, one of which you are ignoring. Category:Australian people by occupation is a subscheme. Why should mediums not be included? Oculi (talk) 19:21, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- I guess the exception rule exists for the reason that, in a large overall scheme, editors can blindly count on the fact that the category exists for every country. In this case, with so many countries with zero articles, editors should not count on the existance for every country anyway. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:49, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Merge but alos to a Fooian people category in each case.
- Fair enough, I'll add that to the nomination. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:21, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Spelling Austrian is not the same as Australian! Twiceuponatime (talk) 08:42, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, you're right! Perhaps I still had Oculi's comments in mind when typing. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:19, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Upmerge all but also the American category. The size of that category does not justify its existence with the size of the overall tree.John Pack Lambert (talk) 08:28, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Upmerge all not clear that all these folks were mediums as an occupation (any more than criminal categories we don't really see as occupational categories), I perused a few and one seemed to be more of a politician and occult writer and nothing about charging for mediuming (if that's a word).
