Nominator's rationale: This one I'm not too sure about. The main article, Shasta County Sports Hall of Fame does not exist. Is a category okay to have when the main article that the template is about does not exist? Or, does the main article need to exist first before a related category? Nominator's rationale: Category of unclear utility.
This has a bit of a tendency to collect stray films which happened to offer the debut performance of an individual actor, sometimes even non-notable actors in small bit parts, but that isn't really a WP:DEFINING characteristic of those films and is basically WP:PERFCAT (as well as being on a fast train to total unmaintainability, since every single film actor who exists at all had a "debut performance" in one film or another) — but where it would be useful and defining, namely films which were the debuts of their directors, it merely duplicates the already existing Category:Directorial debut films.
And other than that, the only other things filed here are two subcategories whose contents aren't actually films, but film awards, and thus don't really belong here either.
So there's no real pressing need for it, if everything that could actually be filed in it is either a duplication or an overcategorized misfile. Category:Directorial debut films should be upmerged to both of this one's parents; the awards categories should not. Bearcat (talk) 05:39, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Except that we don't need navigation from Category:Debut films to Category:Film awards for debut actress‎ or Category:Film awards for male debut actors‎, because the contents of those categories are not films — for them to be relevant here at all, you would have to commit exactly the same "any film that features any actor's debut performance is a debut film" WP:PERFCAT error that gets individual films directly filed here. The only category that legitimately belongs here at all is Category:Directorial debut films, which thus just makes it unnecessary duplication. Bearcat (talk) 15:34, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Readers are likely to want to navigate between these 3 related trees which is what categories are for. We could could add Category:Debut film topic category into the mix as the parent category to include the awards. Or we could narrow the category scope to Category:Debut film awards and place Category:Directorial debut film awards under it plus the 2 acting trees. I'm sympathetic to your maintenance concern and am open to a lot so long as we don't sever the only direct navigational pathway between these three trees. - RevelationDirect (talk) 19:09, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: The Canadian Professional Soccer League was founded in 1998 and was renamed to the Canadian Soccer League in 2006. Since it is the same league with a different name, we do not need to split the categories by time period. The reason for including "(1998–present)" is because of the unrelated league of the same name: Canadian Soccer League (1987–1992). Therefore, I am proposing to merge the 1998–2005 era categories with the 2006–present era while also renaming to a more sensible name. Support The proposal makes perfect sense. It's the same league it was just rebranded in 2006. I believe the Canadian Soccer League (1998–present) is a good name for it as it is distinguished from the old national CSL from 1987-92. Shotgun pete (talk) 13:35, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
