- File:WIN Television 2016 logo.png (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (XfD|restore)
This file was deleted in June 2017 (5 years ago) and I want someone to restore this file after this deletion review closes and put the file in the WIN Television article. Bassie f (talk) 07:29, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- This non-free file was deleted in accordance with WP:NFC#cite_note-4 and the result of the discussion accurately reflects policy. However, I think there is a case to be made that {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} may apply to this logo as it is stylized text only, noting the legal precedence for File:Cyberpunk 2077 logo.svg and community precedence for File:Sonic-Generations-transparent-bg.png. I suggest relisting for community input to determine if this can be freely licensed locally. ✗plicit 05:13, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- We have File:WINTelevision.svg already for this purpose, what is the intent of having this image as well? Stifle (talk) 09:27, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- To show the 2016 variant Bassie f (talk) 19:51, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Respectfully, my reaction to that is mostly meh: How is it attached to the prose (
relevant in the topic's context )? Does it provide variety? Does it enhance the reader's understanding of the subject? What's the dueness, in encyclopedic terms, of showcasing all the minute varieties of the TV station's ever-little-changing logo? —Alalch E. 20:54, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- To show WIN Television's 10 affiliation. Bassie f (talk) 22:48, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Restore with no enthusiasm. Clearly PD due to being basic text in a font, so it's permissible, so the deletion discussion has fallen into error. I am doubtful that it has an encyclopedic use, but that is not a matter which DRV should consider. Stifle (talk) 09:08, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Restore this logo is likely public domain in the US because it's the text "WIN" in a typeface, an argument which was not considered at FFD. Hut 8.5 08:50, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Overturn per above comments, especially Explicit's comment ("significant new information ..."). —Alalch E. 18:34, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
