- File:Elder.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- The file is claimed to be self-made and public domain. However, it has clearly just been cropped from this picture. However, I can't find evidence of the copyright status of that image, but I believe it is more than likely to be copyrighted. BigDom (talk) 08:28, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- See Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Muhammad. To quote: "The copyright status of this image isn't entirely clear. Though it is PD in Turkey (based on the author's date of death), the US doesn't follow the rule of the shorter term. (And it wouldn't have been PD in 1996, the key URAA date.) The uploader supplied no information about the date of publication of this image. If it was published 1923 or after, it would still be copyrighted in the United States." - Just to recap that discussion: this image would be PD in the US if it was first published abroad before 1923 or after 1977. We know it was published in Turkey in 1988, but we have not established whether it was also published earlier, so we do not know if it is PD in the US. - Just a note, since I restored this and was requested to comment: I restored on en-wiki at the request of a Commons admin subsequent to deletion there. This was more or less a mechanical action on my part; I have not endorsed any claim that the file either is free or isn't. - Jmabel | Talk 02:46, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Iranian Passport.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- Source is "Scanned image of my own passport." Scanning does not remove the possible copyright of the designer. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:58, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi there, I actually put my passport into my scanner and scanned it and removed the white areas to get only the image of the front cover of my passport. Now, as this is MY PASSPORT and it was MY SCANNER that was used and IT WAS I WHO EDITED THE IMAGE: I AM THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OF THIS PHOTO. I released it under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. If there are any more permissions that I need to put on the image, please guide me how to do so.
- Moreover, I have not published this photo in any other website other than English Wikipedia but my work was used by other people in several other websites. Thank you for your timeMajalinno 18:29, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
