The target section no longer exists. The target article does not seem to contain the specific subject referenced by these redirects: Words beginning with "relig*" exist in the article, but where these words are do not seem to provide information to satisfy readers who are searching these phrases. And ... there does not seem to be a standalone article to target these redirects. (Also, for what it's worth, none of these redirects are {{R from history}} or {{R from merge}}.) Seems ambigous but I'm not totally sure what would be a better target. Could refer to 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings, 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings. - I don't agree with your point of "Polls are not rankings" (or actually the relevance); the AP is polling writers to create a ranking. There is no official or even primary "NCAA Division I rankings", there are just the individual polls (AP, Coaches, CFP, etc.). Legoktm (talk) 06:40, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

- Question - Does the Associated Press ever run polls on politics or things other than sports that could also be confused? Genuinely asking, I don't know. Fieari (talk) 00:45, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes (e.g. https://www.norc.org/research/projects/the-ap-norc-monthly-poll.html), but I don't think any of those would ever be described as just the "AP Poll" in the same way that the college athletics ones are. Legoktm (talk) 06:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

- The drafted page could be a WP:SIA under a title like 2024 NCAA Division I rankings, and 2024 AP poll could be an {{R from avoided double redirect}} to it. Jay 💬 07:47, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep but also okay with the disambiguation page that was created. Of the sports that have an AP poll, college football is the only one that uses a single year for the season, while college basketball is a winter sport that is always two years (e.g. "2023-2024"), so the "2024 AP Poll" seems to clearly be the football one (while e.g. "2023-2024 AP poll" should be a disambig for the two basketball polls). Not against a disambiguation, as it's certainly better than deletion. I am pretty skeptical that people typing in 2024 AP Poll would be looking for an Andhra Pradesh election. Admittedly a pretty weak nom due to the capitalization and the dash, but couldn't it also be possible that a learner who doesn't natively speak english would also be looking for the chicken tenders article (as to which chick fillet isn't a redirect to but also wouldn't mind it existing) User:Someone-123-321 (I contribute, Talk page so SineBot will shut up) 10:01, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

- keep, preferably speedily now. if a not-very-native english speaker would mistake "fila" for something, it'd be one of the word's meanings in other languages, like "queue" in portuguese (whatever that is). even then, it's also pretty implausible that someone would type "chick-fil" expecting literally anything other than that tortured pun of a restaurant chain consarn (formerly cogsan) 12:44, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep, now I'm not saying keep because I created the redirect. In my opinion, proteen is a plausible misspelling. Plus, it sounds the exact same as "protein", so someone may think it is spelled as "proteen". RedactedHumanoid (talk) 18:50, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete, as this seems to be used for about a billion different products, and at least one band. A WP search for "proteen" finds it used in a few places, such as a record label, a protein bar product, a TV show, etc. This redirect is harmful as it inhibits people searching for this exact word, especially while being a comparatively implausible spelling error -- an ngrams comparison shows "protien" to be a waaaaay more common error (and we can't even tell how many of the former are deliberate because of brand uses and such). 35.139.154.158 (talk) 02:37, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete I also can't find evidence of this being even an uncommon misspelling of protein and there are legitimate reasons to search the specific 'proteen' spelling. It would be a small net negative to cover up search results with such an uncommon (though plausible) spelling error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Synpath (talk • contribs) 03:41, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete; seems to be an ambiguous misspelling. Readers can find the correct spelling of protein before going to Wikipedia, and there are other topics which seem to be described as "proteen" with this specific spelling. Utopes (talk / cont) 18:56, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete due to the ambiguity issues shown by 35.139. If you hear "protein" for the first time you're probably going to spell it something like "proteen", but that is insufficient justification IMO to take the reader away from the quite helpful search results. - The result of the discussion was Retarget to Wiktionary * Pppery * it has begun... 23:00, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
I just removed an unsourced mention of this phrase at target. Even if a source were added, they're not the same thing: Per [1], there are allegations of sexual exploitation at the White Parties, but that's distinct from the alleged freak-offs in hotel rooms. If there's a place this should target, it's Sean Combs sexual misconduct allegations, but currently "Freak-off" only appears in citations there. If mentioned in the body of that article, I'd support a retarget. Else, delete. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 03:03, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- This does seem to be genuinely used as a term to refer to the Diddy Parties, as is reported by reliable sources with respect to the lawsuit. So it's used, and it seems to be a reasonable search term for something related to this. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 06:27, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

- Note that Freak off also has the same target and should be included in the discussion. 162 etc. (talk) 18:52, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep as commonly-used and plausible search term. Its use in reliable sources seems to be about parties ("These 'freak offs' were 'elaborate and produced sex performances' and were highly organised parties, prosecutors said" from above-linked BBC article), so I think current target is better than the general misconduct allegations article. - Soft redirect to wikt:freak off, ideally with either a hatnote to the Diddy parties or adding them to Wikitionary. Has multiple meanings outside of the parties. (I was thinking a minced oath of "fuck off", but don't see any sources for that.) charlotte 👸🎄 03:17, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- Trans-wikify to the Wikitionary term for freak off as this slang term has various meanings and because Wikipedia is not a dictionary. The term is also used as a song title. Oppose redirecting to the article about Sean Combs sexual misconduct allegations, or Diddy parties, because this term is being used as slang to describe the sort of parties that Sean Combs held, and one would not redirect other words that are non-specific terms to describe parties or states of mind, slang or otherwise. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:57, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

- Studio Hamburg → Wandsbek Studios (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Studio Hamburg is an existing production company in Germany. See its German language article at de:Studio Hamburg. The existence of the incorrect redirect here forces an error when using the standard interlanguage link template when one attempts to create an ill to the German Wikipedia article 'Studio Hamburg'. Doprendek (talk) 00:43, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Wandsbek Studios was renamed to Studio Hamburg in 1961, per the article content at Wandsbek Studios. Unfortunately, we don't have anything on the English Wikipedia at this time for de:Studio Hamburg (to my understanding). In the absence of specific material, redirects on the English Wikipedia should point to English Wikipedia pages that exist, not German pages that we would like to exist on the English Wikipedia. When material related to de:Studio Hamburg is added to the English Wikipedia, the redirect can be disambiguated. Utopes (talk / cont) 18:53, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
