79.47.179.13 is continuing ItHysteria's edit war on 30 Seconds to Mars discography now that ItHysteria is blocked. We've previously undergone this problem with 79.52.179.244 and 151.49.234.180, all three of which geolocate to the same region despite being in different nets, so I'm requesting a checkuser to see precisely what ranges need to be blocked to effectively block ItHysteria.—Kww(talk) 14:50, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are various IPs all performing similar edits to a handful of registered accounts. The edit patterns, edit summaries, style of comments etc also lead me to suspect User:Loverdrive and User:Matthew_Riva of additional sock puppet accounts... The fact that Users Matthew Riva and Loverdrive on Italian Wiki are blocked for being a socks of the same account just raises further suspicions... [1], [2]. A major component of ItHysteria's original edit war consisted of lying about the contents of Japanese sources in an effort to convince people that "Edge of the Earth" had charted in Japan: this edit for example. Dog MilkGod appeared today, and immediately created Edge of the Earth (song) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), which once again misrepresents the exact same Japanese source and makes the exact same false claim about the song. Dog MilkGod himself is a case of WP:DUCK, but it is apparent that some of the IP blocks against ItHysteria have expired or become ineffective, and these need replaced. Primary evidence is the lack of ItHysteria anonymous editing for a substantial period, combined with the arrival of Track 9. ItHysteria has always edited from Italian ISPs, usually anonymously. His focus is nearly exclusively articles related to 30 Seconds to Mars. My last block associated with ItHysteria was June 17, for 151.49.239.237. Track 9 edited sporadically before then, but has been very active since that time. It's quite unusual for me to go two weeks without an ItHysteria block, so I'm suspicious that there is a cause-and-effect relationship here.—Kww(talk) 17:42, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew Riva was also the target of an account rename from Dear87 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Dear87&diff=361090699&oldid=299856309 ). Edit warring on 30 Seconds to Mars (album), and a very heavy concentration on 30 Seconds to Mars in general. This is the traditional editing area of ItHysteria, and edit-warring to the point of being blocked is the reason ItHysteria was blocked in the first place. Behaviourally, I'd feel quite confident blocking. Focus on 30 Seconds to Mars articles, creation of 30 Seconds to Mars tour articles (which, in the past, has been the exclusive domain of ItHysteria and his socks). Editing has dramatically picked up in intensity since the block of User:Paint Old Street Black, the last ItHysteria sock. The only reason that I do not block is that previous checkusers have not uncovered this account as a sock, and it has sporadically edited in the past. Single-minded focus on 30 Seconds to Mars, edit-warring over genres. I would normally block on behavioural grounds alone, but the Russian angle makes me cautious. An examination of global contributions makes me doubt that we are truly dealing with a Russian editor, though. Even on Russian Wikipedia, all the edit summaries are in English (the Russian that shows is all automatic), and the edits consist of the kind of genre edit-warring that make ItHysteria unwelcome here.   • I must first point out that МПЛка seems unrelated to ItHysteria -- you unblocked him yourself actually after CU input. Сказал was called as a likely sock though and has ruwiki edits as well.
    Nusacc matches data from IPs that were previously associated with ItHysteria. The last confirmed or likely socks of ItHysteria are stale so I can't give conclusive information one way or the other.

Note: Danrivera is the only sock by this user that I have personal experience with (so I am basing this post based on that user), but apparently the actual master sock is ItHysteria.

With respect to the reference to Jason Walker (musician) above, please take a look at User:Dimday1234 who has been doing the same thing to the Walker article as Juandanikevin. Interestingly enough, Dimday's account was created on October 6, 2008, years before Juan's account was created in 2012. Editing activity on Jason Walker (musician). Juan attempted several times to add unsourced material to the article. I reverted and left escalating warnings on his Talk page. As soon as Juan stopped, Dimday started the same thing. However, Dimday, whose only activity has been to this one article, was created much earlier (October 6, 2008), and his earliest edit of the Walker article was in 2010. It was also his first edit after creating the account two years earlier. Please see also [8] where Juan was reported as a puppet of ItHysteria. There was a 28 January 2014 Help Desk request entitled Move a page regarding the article The Night of the Comet. The Help Desk request was OK, but I looked into the uses who were originally involved with the 2011/2012 creation of The Night of the Comet article and saw a connection between Jjaguilar1994 and ItHysteria and an opportunity to update information on long time sock master ItHysteria. User:Danrivera, a suspected sock of User:ItHysteria, created The Night of the Comet on 18 May 2011‎.[9] The page was redirected within an hour as 'not apparent notability.'[10] On 5 December 2012‎, User:Jjaguilar1994 restored the exact text posted by sock Danrivera.[11] Jauerback indefinitely blocked Jjaguilar1994 on 13 February 2013 by for disruptive editing.[12] Similarly, User:ItHysteria was blocked in January 2010 for disruptive editing and edit-warring.[13] User:Nymf had previously filed a report Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Juandanikevin2012/Archive on Jjaguilar1994 with regard to User:Juandanikevin2012 and User:Amalthea previously filed a report Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Danrivera/Archive on Jjaguilar1994 with regard to User:Danrivera. Since being last blocked in February 2010, ItHysteria has continued to use socks for the subsequent three years through at least 13 February 2013 and I asked that CheckUser data be used to update identification of ItHysteria's socks to investigate and/or prevent disruption or potential disruption of any Wikimedia project.
