Colin Payne (b. 1978) is a South African exhibition designer and artist. Having lived in Cape Town for most of his life, Payne is often influenced by his environment and popular culture. His multi-media three-dimensional creations incorporate the styles of graphic design, cartoons, animation, video games, and action figures. Payne interprets these influences as modern parallels of myths and legends. Major exhibitions include the Spier Outdoor Sculpture Biennial II, 2004; Pola Museum Annex, Tokyo; a solo show at 34 Long, Cape Town; Gordart Gallery, Johannesburg; and Spier Contemporary 2010.
