I've been considering to make a new userbox related to an animated series, Super Wings in particular, because a few days ago I've seen that cartoon TV stations in China have aired the first half of the eighth season. However, I'm concerned because this particular season is not aired in everywhere else yet at the time I'm writing this (including in South Korea and United States, even though I think it'll be aired in the former quite soon judging from the patterns in Korean Wikipedia), so I'm not sure if I can create this new userbox without risk of bringing international spoilery stuffs now. Hi @Starry Windy! Per WP:SPOILERS, we include spoilers in articles frequently, so there's certainly no rule you couldn't in a userbox as well. However, many people here, as anywhere, dislike spoilers, so you might want to hold off just to be nice to them. Also consider whether the userbox has relevance to your Wikipedia editing or not. I think User:UBX/No Turkey in EU should be excluded from the Wikiproject. It does not represent Wikipedia politically and can be interpreted as racist. If someone wishes to use such userbox they shall create one custom under their userpage. VectorVoyager (talk) 10:47, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

VectorVoyager Nothing about this userbox immediately strikes me as anything more than a political position. The userbox makes no mention of race or ethnicity, and while Wikipedia is supposed to be politically neutral, individual users are allowed to express their personal beliefs and positions through userboxes. Doing so allows users to be more transparent as makes it easier to make their personal biases known. There are numerous userboxes listed at WP:UBX/POLITICS that allow individual users to express their political positions. Obviously, a userbox that reads like "This user does not want Turks in the EU" would not be allowed as it would indeed be racist. However, the userbox in question is regarding the country of Turkey, not the people that live there. - ZLEA _T\^C 21:16, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

I have tried different ways of leveraging Template:Easy_CSS_image_crop and Template:CSS image crop to use a portion of a Wikipedia image in a userbox, but struggling. For example, I just want to use the head portion of this photo.

You should be able to use the Wikimedia Commons crop tool to crop it and upload the image to Commons. From there, you can use it the same way you would use any other image in a userbox. -- KomradeKalashnikov (talk) 13:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

I want my userpage to be only userboxes scaled up in a 2 column grid that takes up the entire width of the article. Currently I use a CSS hack using the scale property to achieve this. Unfortunately, it fails to take into account smaller resolutions entirely. Any Wikitext-smiths have a solution to my (frivolous) problem? In this template page, for example, the navbox in the bottom refers to North Levantine Arabic. Is there a way to change it to Lebanese Arabic, with the code apc-LB? Nehme₁₄₉₉ 12:43, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Nehme1499, unfortunately, no. The navbox at the bottom of Template:User apc-LB-3 is generated by Template:User x, which only supports the international standard ISO 639 for language codes. The code apc is defined at Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3. See also the official page of ISO 639-3.

The language code apc corresponds to Levantine Arabic. As per article Lebanese Arabic: Lebanese Arabic [...] is a variety of North Levantine Arabic. There is no separate ISO 639-3 code for Lebanese Arabic. —⁠andrybak (talk) 18:23, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Here are a couple of examples of other languages, which have language variety userboxes with the same issue in the navbox:

• Austrian variety of German: {{User de-AT-1}} links to {{User de-0}}...{{User de-N}} instead of {{User de-AT-0}}...{{User de-AT-5}}
• Brazilian variety of Portuguese: {{User pt-BR-1}} links to {{User pt-0}}...{{User pt-N}} instead of {{User pt-BR-1}}...{{User pt-BR-5}}

Hi there,

there are quite a few outdated userboxes. Two I noticed were the Firefox Aurora userbox (discontinued a decade ago) and the MSN userbox (discontinued in the 2010s)

Is anybody willing to help me go through these userboxes and remove them (from the pages, NOT wikipedia)? HaytchT (talk) 21:38, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

This is the code for a user box in my userspace.

Border-c defines the border colour using hex.

id defines the image used for the userbox, make sure to put a link to the file instead of just the file title.

id-c defines the colour of the image background also using hex

info is the text for the userbox
