- ^ According to the family tree that AncestryDNA provided to this user, the user's grandfather's mother's grandfather is probably one Israel Angert, born in 1859 in "Odessa, Russia". This Angert was apparently married to Golde Wassermann, born in 1863 in "Russia". However, since "Odessa, Russia" is likely the same as modern-day Odesa, Ukraine, this user is probably of Ukrainian descent.
- ^ Incidentally, the town of Yefremov, in a suburban part of the Russian Federation, is significant to me in one other way: I first learned of it as the site of the Masha Moskalyova case (whose article I have edited), an incident during the war with Ukraine in which a Russian schoolgirl's drawing caused her father to be arrested, imprisoned, and released. I myself made a series of videos about the case, which I believe is the most detailed description of this strange case in the whole English language.
